FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
A page from the source document is not the same as a translation’s standard page. The number of characters on a sworn translation page is 1125 characters with spaces and 1600 characters with spaces on a page of an ordinary text translation.
Sworn (certified) translations are performed by an authorised translator entered on the list of sworn translators of the Ministry of Justice, who certifies the compliance of the content with a given form of the document with the translator’s stamp and signature (original, submitted document and copy).
Ordinary (non-sworn) translations do not require a certified translator’s stamp. Standard translations are prepared and delivered electronically (e.g., Word, PDF, and Excel files). It is possible to print a standard translation at the client’s request.
Standard translation is performed for documents intended for private use or for purely informative and preview purposes.
Sworn translation is required for documents with legal force and is accepted by offices, courts and other public institutions.
Translations can be ordered by filling out the form on the website or by sending the documents directly by e-mail to the following address: email@example.com, and then by accepting the given translation conditions. The possible date of preparation and the price for the service are presented to the client by telephone or e-mail and require approval in order to start the service.
The translation price depends on the number of characters with spaces, language, specialisation and complexity of the text. The standard or express mode has an additional impact on the price.
A translation quote is free of charge and non-binding.
7. Are translations performed by the same person with whom the first contact is made in connection with a translation order?
Our employees are responsible for contacting the client and servicing orders. They entrust translations to appropriate translators.
It all depends on the language, type and volume of translation. We can perform short, half-page standard translations for the same day in most situations. In some cases, we can provide sworn half-page or one-page translations or standard documents from selected languages, e.g. English, French, Italian, German, Lithuanian, Russian and Belarusian, on the same day.
We always try to complete an order in every language. In the case of less frequently translated languages, e.g. Hungarian, Georgian, Romanian, Chinese, etc., translations are also possible. Still, we need more time for this than in the case of standard languages.
Sworn translations must be collected in person or by another person if they are certified as true original copies. If the original document is left in our office, we can send the documents by post or courier. If translations are not certified as true to the original, it is also possible to send the documents by post/courier or in the form of a scan in an e-mail message.
Whispered interpreting is chosen for less official events with a small group of people. It concerns the current, simultaneous translation of the utterance in a whisper.
Consecutive interpreting is when an interpreter gradually translates excerpts from a person’s speech. The time of the entire project when choosing this type of translation is usually extended by up to half than in the case of whispered or simultaneous interpreting.
Simultaneous interpreting is selected for meetings with a very large number of participants. It consists in the current, parallel interpreting of statements by two interpreters using conference equipment in the form of specially equipped booths.
Interpretation is performed at official meetings, for example, when getting married at a registry office or during a meeting at a notary’s office. A sworn translator is also present at interpreting services for public institutions (police, courts) and during driving tests or when concluding contracts.
The best solution for business meetings, negotiations or training for 4-5 people is consecutive interpreting without specialised equipment. An advantage of this type of translation is the ability to interact, insert and ask questions.
It is recommended to choose consecutive interpreting using equipment in the form of a transmitter and a receiver set with a handset for each participant for trainings or conferences involving a larger number of people.
For international conferences with many participants, simultaneous interpretation is the best choice. It requires the work of two changing interpreters using conference equipment in the form of specially equipped booths.
